Jamie Stern produced a thousand square feet of our classic distressed leather, Durango, for a stunning display of wall panels prominently featured in the recently renovated Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling offices. A prominent West Coast distributor of Coca-Cola products, Reyes Holdings was established in 1976 and tapped Gensler Newport Beach to update their Irvine, CA facility.
For the main lobby, 84 identical panels were upholstered in the Pony Express colorway of Durango. Every hide of this beautiful full grain leather receives a hand-wiped finish, lending them a comfortable, worn-in look and rugged two tone effect. As a result of this artisanal process, each panel features unique characteristics including lighter and darker areas, dramatic mottling and varying emphasis on the grain.
By embracing leather’s organic traits and inherent lack of uniformity, the Gensler Newport Beach team was able to give Reyes Coca-Cola’s lobby space a truly one-of-a-kind exhibition that is as eye-catching as it is original.
