Caiman

Caiman is one of Jamie Stern’s most popular embossed leather qualities. Inspired by the hides of the reptile from which it draws its name, this iconic texture makes for an eye-catching upholstery option in any of its four classic colorways. Produced on sides (half hides), this article is embossed with maximum pressure, dwell and heat to ensure that the leather’s precise pattern is consistent and even throughout. After this print is applied, the sides are then finished with a protective semi-aniline topcoat before receiving additional layers of hand-tipped pigmentation. This artisanal finishing process provides a greater sense of depth and richness while accentuating the embossed pattern, making for a truly unforgettable upholstery leather. Produced exclusively in our New York finishing plant, Caiman is a leather that is sure to impress in any space or application.
