Jamie Stern produced just over a dozen wholly custom pieces of furniture for Gallery 64, a luxury apartment building in Washington, D.C. Located in the bustling Southwest Waterfront neighborhood, this high-end complex offers tenants stunning views of the city’s iconic skyline in addition to quick access to some of the city’s most well-known cultural attractions. A short walk will bring one to The National Gallery of Art, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Rubell Museum and, of course, the Smithsonian.

For a variety of public and amenity spaces, Jamie Stern manufactured everything from custom sofas, lounge chairs and L-shaped sectionals with traditional features to unique hybrids that combine the functionality of a banquette with the aesthetics of a more decorative pouf. This piece in question, the Claude Banquette, allows for 360 degrees of seating while also boasting a number of stylish design flourishes like its precisely grid-tufted seat and vertical channeled back. This beautiful residential building was designed by Chicago’s Simeone Deary Design Group.
